Sacred Journey, 2012 and Beyond Follow Catherine on a journey of a life time, an extraordinary vision quest leading to self-actualization, romance and her full spiritual destiny. A spiritual journey that will enlighten and heighten the senses, leading to the unknown and unknowable. Catherine’s search takes her on a trek that bridges time travel, Mayan culture, past lives, orbs, spiritual guides, and soul mates. This visionary fiction follows her search for the meaning of ancient symbols on a bracelet, given to her on her 13th birthday by her uncle. "This is not just a bracelet Catherine; it leads to a message that holds magical powers to guide you towards a hope, peace and enlightenment." He said, "This gift is for you, but the message will change the planet as we know it and heal a great hole in the fabric of our society. Changes of great magnitude will be born both, within the people of the planet, and the way we live with the earth," he added prophetically.

In Communication, Listen for Intent

Keeping relationships flowing in a positive way can be daunting. They can be slippery at best when we try to maneuver around intricacies of daily life. We are human don't you know and no matter how hard we try to stay focused on the message the other person is sending us, we can easily be diverted to our history. How our parents and those significant others in our life managed their relationships affect us unconsciously. So we think we have this covered, sometimes operating in the "opposite" way our parents did, only to get tangled in the complexities of communication. Then the "he said, she said" cycle begins and we forget what the original message was in the first place.

How do we get around such communication glitches? Simple, listen to the other person when he/she speaks. I know, you did hear them the first time, right? Could it be that you were listening for words, not intent. This time listen for intent...for what might be the inner or core of the message. This is harder to do, and I admit it is definitely a higher level of listening, but so worth it in the long run. When you listen to the message, especially when it is heated, what is driving the message? What is behind the message in the first place? Key into this and the message is much easier to respond to without things getting out of hand.

Testimonials

"Sarah read it out loud to Annie and I as we sat huddled around the book. We all had this visceral experience, relating to the very beginning passage. We couldn't believe it, it was like boom! This powerful, emotional moment that is just impossible to describe. Such a gift…we all felt it at once. I immediately ordered 5 more books for gifts."

"I don't know how to describe the experience. I couldn't put it down. I read it from cover to cover and wanted more. I would like to see a workbook, so I can go into more depth around the archetypes…My husband is reading it now."

Edna Pampy, Executive

"I found your book at my daughter's house and at first started reading it to my grand daughter thinking it was a child's book. As I read on I soon discovered the truth of why I was reading the book. It was meant to help fully understand the reality of my life, today as I battle two types of cancer. It has truly helped me with this struggle and given me a new prospective on dealing with the disease. The metaphors and meditative process is so simple it sneaks up on you and you find yourself becoming Tag. This is truly a book for children of all ages. I highly recommend this book to any one."

I begin this blog at the beginning...talk around the everyday things of life, everyday communication that gets stuck in nuetral. I'm struck by how easily we can misunderstand comments made in haste, communication that gets blocked for some reason or simply communication that doesn't happen. We get busy, tired, sick and talk short hand or worse, don't talk at all. The next we know, the relationship is in trouble.

My clients are especially bruised when they don't know why so and so is not talking to them. Or why their husbands or wives are acting in a way that is out of character for them. Maybe they just arn't talking at all and the simplest fix of all is to ask them, "what the heck is going on?" Simple enough, but many times the road to that fix is long in coming. Has this ever happened to you? The door is open, how do you feel and what do you think?

Be Careful What you Believe, Because You Get it!

I frequently ask my clients to set an intention for the day, especially before they meditate. Setting an intention is somewhat like sending a prayerful message out into the Universe. This enables us to meet the day with an outlook that brings us good things. Intentions works best when the quality of the message is strong and clear. Such as, “I now look for the perfect house for me that will fill all of my needs.”

What happens when we say things like, “Don’t let this (disaster) happen, or that (problem) happen. I don’t know why I can’t have a baby, car, trip, house, etc., other people have these things. Why can’t I have X, I deserve it.” These kinds of message keep us stuck. When we focus on what we don’t want to happen we create a self-fulfilling prophesy.

Quantum physics say we literally create our reality through our thoughts. Our thought processes generally consists of ramblings of feelings, sights and sounds, and nothing has reality until we process it through our minds. We organize it into structured thinking and co-create a vision of what we want to see in our lives. When the quality of our thought turns negative, then what we get back is also negative and jumbled. Like wiring that gets crossed, the connection just doesn’t happen. It does happen, just not as we intended.

So how do we create the kind of outlook or send the kind of intention that works best for us? This is more about seeing right than thinking right. When we ask for things to not happen, we get confused. The Universe and your mind cannot distinguish between what you want and what you don’t want. We send the Universe, your higher power, your higher consciousness, however you wish to frame this as well as other people, a mixed message. So keep things clear and straightforward.

The steps to get what you want are easy enough: focus on what you want to see happen, and not what you don’t want to see happen. Then let go of the intention. See it like a balloon floating away into space. This intention can be nonspecific, or general, or specific.

  • (Non specific) My life is richly rewarding and all of my needs are filled easily and effortlessly.
  • (Specific) My dream trip to ________comes to me now.
  • (General) I now unfold to the wonderful person that I am and everyone loves me.
  • I see my new __________ car sitting in my driveway and I will drive it with joy.
  • My house is filled with my children, my laughter, and my love.
  • I have the perfect job waiting for me and all I have to do is see it.
  • My body is healthy and I feel great!

What do you want to see happen in your life? See it, imagine it, be it…When you think intentional statements of the possible, a clear message is sent to the Universe for what you want, and if you see it, and believe it possible, the possible happens.

Health Care Saves Big Bucks on Patients Who Meditate

Sometimes the best things in life are free… Researchers studying meditation show that stress is a vicious cycle: Unchecked stress turns into anxiety; anxiety turns into depression, which over time turns into a hormone that plays havoc with the internal organs of the body, producing a variety of illnesses and disorders.

Meditation can turn that around, reducing anxiety, depression, and the hormones that damage our body. Both adults and children are using meditation to control feelings and behavior. When you look at how our children interpret the body’s responses, these feelings are externalized as both bodily dysfunction and behavioral issues. We are seeing that these complaints are endemic in our country and around the world.

How does it work? Meditation can counteract the fight-or-flight response that floods the body with stress hormones which also shuts down the parasympathetic system. This hormone normally restores order after the fight-or-flight response alert is over, somewhat like a reset button.

Taking a closer look on a molecular level, meditation slows metabolism in red blood cells and suppresses the production of proteins associated with the kind of heightened immune response often seen in stressed-out subjects. In one study, meditating a mere 15 minutes twice daily reduced doctor visit over a six-month period saving this health-care system $200 a patient.

Now let’s be honest, maybe we are not so concerned with saving the health care system a lot of money. But aren’t we concerned with how we feel on a daily basis and wouldn’t we want our health care costs lower? I think most of us would agree with these outcomes right? So if 15 minutes twice a day and proper breathing can improve health and vitality, it might be well worth the short commitment. See there, sometimes the best things in life are free!
